Star Trek USS Enterprise

The first picture from Star Trek, J.J. Abrams prequel to the famous franchise, has surfaced on the web. It features the USS Enterprise.

Click the picture to enlarge it:

Looks like the spaceship is under construction.
By the way the official trailer should come quite soon, so stay tuned!

Wait a minute. I realize this is just a teaser trailer, so perhaps we're not seeing things as they will actually be. BUT, looking at the still photo of the upper saucer section of the Enterprise, it appears to be the RE-fit Enterprise of the movies, NOT the original series vessel. Look at it. The bridge module is the updated design. I thought this movie was supposed to pre-date TOS. I did like the industrial look of the ship construction with the welding sparks and all. Just made me a little nervous to see the re-fit Enterprise. It would be a crying shame to see J.J. Abrams do to this new Trek movie what Brannon Braga did to "Enterprise" and make things in the early Star Fleet days look more advanced than the technology in TOS. Never made any sense.

I understand whatyou mean. But except real fans of Star Trek like us who would like to watch old 1960's designs?
Don't forget that Hollywood does not make movies for art's sake: Hollywood wants to reap profit from its investments. You must admit that "advanced technologies" are more likely to reach a wider public.
