Star Trek Cast

Star Trek is a kind of iconic series: so many fans in space (around the world) and time (since the beginning in the 1960's)!
Selecting a cast for Star Trek the movie isn't an easy task for sure. By no doubt it will level criticism.
But to my viewpoint the new cast looks quite good. And no major discrepancy between the new actors' faces and the actors from the original series.

Have a look:

Chris Pine as James T. Kirk (William Shatner)

Zachary Quinto as Spock (Leonard Nimoy)

Karl Urban as Leonard H. McCoy (DeForest Kelley)

Simon Pegg as Montgomery Scott (James Doohan)

John Cho as Hikaru Sulu (George Takei)

Anton Yelchin as Pavel Chekov (Walter Koenig)

Zoe Saldana as Uhura (Nichelle Nichols)

And let's not forget Eric Bana who will play the role of a Romulan villain.

Star Trek in December 2008

Fans of Star Trek can rejoice: the famous franchise created by Gene Roddenberry is again adapted to the cinema.
Kirk and Spock will be be teleported by Santa Claus into our theaters next year, on December 25th, 2008.

This eleventh entry in the Star Trek film series is directed by J.J. Abrams, the creator of Lost.

The story is actually a prequel to the original Star Trek from the 1960's: it will dwell on the earliest adventures of James T. Kirk and Spock, and will also feature appearances by the main characters from the original series

Just to ring the bells, let's watch the opening of the original StarTrek:

By the way some pictures of Star Trek the movie have already leaked on the web.
Here below a snatched picture of Zachary Quinto as Spock:
More snatched pictures at jfxonline.

J.J. Abrams was great with Lost, but will he be as great with Star Trek?
